Design the Partnership


  • Participation includes campus staff, students, faculty and the director or volunteer coordinator.
  • The partnership encompasses ad hoc projects involving individual CBO’s and various campus constituencies.
  • Common values are present in the individual mission statement.

Building on Collaboration


  • Coordination between a combination of partnering organization’s activities among partners. Partners identify common community issues and problems.
  • The partnership organization takes the form of a task force or joint CBO-campus committee with regular meetings and shared communication among multiple partners.
  • Partnership members articulate common missions and values to identify the values of the partnership.

Sustaining the Partnership


  • Partnership activities among multiple organizations are coordinated in order to mobilize the relative strengths of each partner to meet common goals and objectives.
  • The partnership itself has a permanent organization with a full-time director and staff.
  • The partnership as an institution has a clearly defined mission statement.
