Project Description:
This class conducted three service-learning projects over the course of the semester. The first project involved working with the NH Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau of Homelessness and Housing (BHHS). Students conducted interviews of residents residing in local homeless shelters administered by Southwestern Community Services to fill a gap in the data previously collected by BHHS. For the second project, students partnered with the Keene Family YMCA, and wrote a grant in order to raise money for the new Y building. The third project involved partnering with the Office of Almuni and Parent Relations to conduct an alumni survey of recent students graduating with a major in sociology. Results of the survey will be part of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology's departmental assessment.
