Stage 1: Designing the Partnership
- Communication is infrequent and based on placement and project planning. There is little or no communication on mutual goals/benefits beyond particular projects.
- Evaluation is limited to community partners’ evaluation of student participation and/or quality of the project.
Stage 2: Building on Collaboration
- Partners meet on a regular basis to discuss current and future projects. They set short-term and long-term partnership goals.
- Community partners’ evaluation of projects and activities is incorporated into joint planning for service-learning and other community-based partnership activities.
Stage 3:Sustaining the Partnership
- Partnership meetings are a regular part of joint decision-making, and evaluation.
- In addition to regular evaluation of partnership activities, the partnership itself is regularly evaluated with input from all stakeholder groups.
